How can I become a BPW Member?

The first step would be to go to the "NC Local BPWs" tab at the left, and identify the Local

If you find one you are interested in joining, you can either click on their website (if they have one listed) and follow that local's membership instructions, or email the webmaster with your name, phone number, and the LO you are most interested in, and someone will get in touch with you regarding membership and meetings.

Can I just visit a meeting without joining?

Absolutely!  We love having guests, and hope you will find it rewarding enough to join us as a member.  To visit any LO, just find one close to you (as described above) and make a contact.

How often do you meet?

Generally, each LO meets once a month.  Some LOs set up additional get-togethers that can be social in nature, or for fund-raising, educational events, community service, and many other opportunities.

At the District level, there are 3 meetings per year that members can choose to attend or not.

At the State level, there is the Spotlight on Women Conference in the Fall, and the Annual Conference in June.  Other than those, there are also Board meetings that all members are welcome to attend, and planning meetings held by the different BPW/NC committees.

How much does it cost to be a member?

That varies depending on the LO.  Dues are collect annually, and all members are required to pay national and state dues.  On average, total membership cost (including state and national dues) in every NC local, is under $100 a year, a real bargain for association dues in today's market.

How can I learn more about what BPW can do for me?

Several ways.  You can continue to peruse our web site for what we do and who we are, or you can visit the national website (BPW/USA) which is full of many useful tools for women, lots of information, and it lists the benefits of being a BPW member.

However the best way to find out what BPW can do for you, is to come to a meeting and talk to the other members.  We love to share the wealth of opportunities BPW can offer to its members.
